Trying to keep those fingers moving
I am finding myself inventing reasons to not write things on this site, which is crazy given that I spend a decent chunk of money keeping the thing on the Internet, and then recently put a bunch of systems to make it easier to release changes and mind dump the usual level of stupid thoughts on this damn page.
Another step towards world domination
After a solid billion years of considering having this site be automatically deployed, I have finally put the minimum amount of effort in and have now got site updates to automatically roll out through CI/CD. Of course, the actual hard part of updating this site is actually writing content and gathering motivation to actually mind dump something of value to the org file in which all of my articles are written, but at least I can safely say that a lack of updates certainly won't be because I have to run a make target to actually push the changes out!
The enemy of perfect is good
A few years ago I put this site together and had this dream that, when I have everything set up just right, I can just open up Emacs and type some stuff into a window and hit a button and everything would just work. It was a time when I imagined that I would spend a small fortune having a DigitalOcean Kubernetes setup because why not and everything would be just like I would if it was a setup for work.
One country down, one to go
As I write this, I am in a cafe in Japan having a cheeky French press coffee in a swanky cafe in Tokyo. I feel like I am not in place without a flat cap and loafers, but I'm enjoying relaxing here and thought its would be a good time to reflect and appreciate the wonderful time that I had in Korea. In my last post, I covered my time in Incheon and Seoul. I went to two more cities, and looking back on the trip I had a really great time in Korea. There were difficulties and the trip was very different to my usual trips as most of it was unplanned and ad hoc, but I went to Korea with the aim of meeting up with my three close Korean friends, and I was able to do that, so the trip for me was a resounding success.
