Description
EV-factory workers optimize and innovate to stand out at big board meeting.
Expansions in Use
- SpeedCharger
- Place board in centre of table
- Place Sandra tile either on mean (standard) or nice Sandra side as desired
- Place 3 random resources in recycling section of board
- Place factory goal and certification tiles on board:
- Randomly place:
- 2 grey factory goal tiles in R&D department
- 2 beige factory goal tiles in R&D department
- 2 certification goal tiles above certification track
- On each of above pairs of tiles, place generic speech tokens
- 2P: 1 generic speech token on each tile
- 3P: 2 generic speech tokens on lower number goal, 1 token on higher number goal
- 4P: 2 generic speech token on each tile
- Randomly place:
- Set up test track:
- Choose side according to player count
- Place car part value markers on leftmost space of upgrade value track:
- Double upgrade side face down
- Place pace car on striped test track space
- Place production cycle marker and meeting marker on marked spaces in middle of test track
- Randomly place 8 designs on spaces in design department
- Place remaining tiles in 3 stacks of 9 in remaining 3 leftmost spaces
- Place 1 car in each of 2 rightmost spaces in assembly department
- Randomly place 2 demand tiles in marked spaces in assembly department
- Place number of generic speech tokens written on each tile next to each tile
- Shuffle Kanban order cards deck
- Place car parts in logistics department:
- Reveal top Kanban card
- Place a car part for every icon shown on revealed card,
- Put card on bottom of deck
- Shuffle performance goal deck
- Place 4 goals in meeting room face up
- Randomly place final goal tile in space below meeting room
- Place week marker on 0 space on week track below meeting room
- Place Sandra at her desk in admin department
- Randomly place award tiles above top space of training track in each department:
- 2-3P: 2 award tiles on each space
- 4P: 3 award tiles on each space
- Place Charger tokens near board:
- 2P: 8 tokens
- 3P: 11 tokens
- 4P: 14 tokens
Each player places following on their player board:
- A set of garage tiles:
- Tile with padlock goes on garage 5
- Other 4 tiles can be placed in any order
- Standard game uses basic garage tiles:
- For a more advanced setup, use expert garage tiles marked with a star
- Some players can use basic set while others use expert set
- 1 speech token on leftmost bubble space
- 1 double upgrade tile with padlock face showing
- 1 padlock marker on each of 5 lock symbols on your player board
- One of them is on double upgrade tile
- 1 parts voucher
- 3 performance goals
- 2 Kanban order tiles
- 1 Banked shift reminder tile
Place following on game board:
- 1 disc on starting space of each department's training tracks
- 1 banked shift marker on 0 space of shift bank
- Your victory point marker:
- Mean Sandra: Place it on 15 space
- Nice Sandra: Place it on 0 space
Each player also receives:
- 1 Charging board
- Randomly choose a start player
- Starting with start player and going clockwise:
- Place your certification marker on a space of your choice in 0 section of certification track
- Immediately take printed benefit
- In certification track order (from right to left), each player takes:
- 1 car part from logistics department
- 1 design from design department:
- You can choose from top of any of 11 stacks
- After all players have chosen tiles from design department, refill stacks in design department:
- Slide design tiles to rightmost spaces to fill gaps
- Fill empty spaces on left with tiles from stack next to each row
- Logistics department is not replenished
- For first turn of game, players will place meeples on spaces in certification track order (from right to left)
Each round represents a day in a working week. Each day has two phases:
- Department Selection Phase
- Work Phase
After the above phases have been completed, if conditions are met:
- End-of-week Scoring
- Meeting
In order from top to bottom on game board:
- Each player places worker meeple on a space in a different department to one they just worked in
- 2P:
- You cannot place your meeple in same department that Sandra is in
- However, when Sandra moves, she is able to move into a department that you are in (if there is an empty space)
- Sandra is considered a player for this process
- Sandra will move into next space of next department going from top to bottom
- When she is in administration department, she is placed at her desk instead of at a workstation
- When she moves from administration department, she starts again from top of board
- If all spaces in next department are full, she skips that department completely and looks in department below it
- She may also skip next department if its spaces are also both full
For first turn of game, following changes to process are made:
- In certification track order, going from right to left, place workers at a workstation
- Sandra starts game at her desk in administration department
- Sandra does not move during first round
When working in a department, actions that you can do is determined by how many shifts you have to spend during your turn. You can never spend more than 4 shifts in a turn, and these shifts can be earned in following ways:
- number of shifts written on workstation you chose
- Banked shifts
Altenatively, train in that department:
- Spend 1 book or 1 shift per space you wish to train in a department
- You may do this as many times as you can afford
- Spending books does not use any shifts
- Move training marker one space along that department's training track
- At 4th space on track, you have become certified:
- Remove associated padlock from your player board
- Move certification track marker to empty space in next section of certification track
- Immediately receive printed bonus
- If that section has a factory goal tile on it, take one speech token (if any left)
If you reach last space in certification track:
- Take one speech token (if any left)
- Take stack of remaining award tiles and choose one
- Immediately receive benefit printed on it
- Return remaining tiles face down on space
Certification Benefit: Unlocks double-upgrade tile
After you have completed your turn in R&D department:
- For each car you claimed this turn, advance pace car 1 space on test track
- If pace car reaches/passes a striped space, move meeting marker to meeting room space
- Move other cars on test track forward to fill in any gaps
Cost:
- 1st car behind pace car: 1 shift
- 2nd car behind pace car: 2 shifts
- 3rd car behind pace car: 2 shifts
- 4th car behind pace car: 3 shifts
Note:
- You can only take this turn if:
- There are cars on test track other than pace car
- You have an empty garage to place claimed car into
- A design on your player board matching type of car being claimed
- You only advance cars on test track to fill in gaps after you have completed your turn, not during it
To claim a car:
- Choose a car on track to claim
- Return a design tile to central stack matching type of car you wish to claim
- Place car into an empty garage
- Receive benefit on tile next to garage that car was placed into
- Turn this garage tile over to show benefit has been received
- If you now have number of cars in your garage matching number of cars on one of grey factory goal tiles:
- Take one of speech tokens on stack (if any are still there)
Cost: 1 shift
Note:
- You can only take this action if you have a design on your player board
- You cannot upgrade a design tile which does not have a car part printed on it
To upgrade a design:
- Move a car part from your player board to any upgrade space for car type you are upgrading:
- You can use a parts voucher to take any car part from supply
- If you have R&D Charger token, for any one design you upgrade this turn, use a car part from supply instead of from your player board
- Receive printed benefit (if any)
- Move upgrade value marker for car part you used up one space (if able)
- If you have not used your double upgrade tile, you may choose to use that to perform a double upgrade:
- Note: Once a car part has been double upgraded, it cannot be double upgraded again by another player
- Move upgrade value marker up two spaces instead of one
- Flip upgrade value marker over to its double upgraded side
- Gain PP equal to new value of car part
- Flip your double upgrade tile over to show that it has been used
- If you have not used your double upgrade tile, you may choose to use that to perform a double upgrade:
- Flip design you used over to its upgraded side and place it to next to your player board
- If you have a car in your garage matching car type on tile, place it above that car to make the design a tested design
- Earn 2 PP
- Check beige factory goal tiles:
- If condition met, take one speech token (if any left)
Certification Benefit: Unlocks 5th car garage on your player board
Before carrying out any training or actions in this department:
- If any car types have all of their assembly spaces filled with car parts, return all of those parts to supply
Cost: 1 shift
To provide a needed part:
- Move a car part from your player board to an empty assembly space behind a car type:
- Parts voucher can be spent to place any car part from supply
- You cannot place a car part of same type as one that is currently placed behind that car type
- Provide upgraded parts before unupgraded parts:
- If you have Assembly Charger token, you can ignore this restriction
- Move cars along conveyer belt arrow and backfill cars:
- If there are multiple paths, you can choose freely which one each car uses
- If car moves off conveyer belts:
- Gain number of PP shown on used exit
- If car is in demand, take one speech token
- If no more tokens are left, draw a new demand tile and place shown number of speech token markers
- Return old tile and shuffle stack
- Place a new car of this type at beginning of that car type's assembly line
- If there are no more cars of that type left, just skip this step
Certification Benefit:
- Unlocks 6th car part space on your board
- Unlocks Receive Parts Voucher action
Cost: 1 shift
Note:
- You can only take this action once per turn
To issue an order: * Gain 1 banked shift * If you have Logistics Charger token, gain 2 banked shifts instead * Choose a Kanban order card from your hand and space in desired orientation * Place one car part from supply into its warehouse for each matching symbol on each side of line * Return Kanban order card to bottom of deck and draw a new one
Cost: 1 shift
Note: You can only take this action if you have at least one spare car part space on your player board to store taken car parts
To take car parts:
- Take any number of parts from any one warehouse
- Place them in spaces on your player board
Cost: 1 shift
Note:
- You can only take this action once per turn
- You can only take this action if you have been certified in Logistics department
Receive 1 parts voucher from supply and place it next to your player board. At end of your turn, move it onto your player board to show that it can now be used
Certification Benefit:
- Unlocks 6th design space on your player board
- Unlocks Select an Advanced Design action
On end of your turn in this department:
- Slide all designs in both rows to right to fill any gaps
- Refill any empty spaces, from right to left, with tiles from stacks on left side of each row
- If these stacks become empty, refill empty spaces with designs from central stack
- If both are depleted, fill top row first
- If these stacks become empty, refill empty spaces with designs from central stack
Cost: 1 shift
Note: You can only take this action if you have a free design space on your player board to store chosen design
To select a design:
- Choose 1 of designs from 8 rightmost spaces
- Place it on an empty design space on your player board
- If you chose a design from rightmost column, take a book token
- If you chose a design from second rightmost column, bank a shift
- These benefits are received per design chosen this way
- Remember that designs are not refilled until end of your turn
Cost: 1 shift
Note:
- You can only take this action if:
- You have a free design space on your player board to store chosen design
- You have unlocked this action by being certified in Design department
To select an advanced design:
- Choose 1 of designs from 3 rightmost stacks
- Place it on an empty design space on your player board
- If you have Design Charger token, gain 1 book
Certification Benefit: Unlocks 5th speech token space on your player board
Note: You have one extra shift in this department if you have Administration Charger token
When working in Administration department:
- Shifts can be divided between Administration department and one other department as you wish
- You can do actions and training in other department by spending shifts or books as normal
Cost: 1 shift
Note: You are only allowed to take this action once per turn
- Take a charger token from supply
- Place it on a free space on your Charger board
Charger Token Benefits:
- R&D: Every time you work in R&D, you may upgrade 1 design with a car part taken from supply
- Assembly: Every time you work in Assembly, you do not have to provide upgraded parts before non-upgraded parts
- Logistics: Every time you work in Logistics, you bank 2 shifts instead of 1 when placing a Kanban card
- Design: Every time you work in Design, when you take a design from central stack, also gain 1 book
- Administration: Every time you work in Administration, you may work an extra shift
When it is Sandra's turn, she will evaluate department she is currently in. How this evaluation happens depends on whether you are playing with Mean Sandra (default) or Nice Sandra
After she has evaluated a department and all rewards/penalties have been completed, do following:
- R&D:
- Advance pace car 1 space on test track
- Advance all cars behind pace car to fill any gaps
- If pace car moves onto a striped space, move meeting marker to its space below meeting room
- Assembly:
- Remove all car parts from assembly spaces
- Logistics:
- Remove all but 1 car part from each warehouse
- Design:
- Shuffle and return 4 rightmost design tiles to bottom of central stack
- 2P: Shuffle and return 8 rightmost design tiles to bottom of central stack
- Slide any designs down and fill gaps from stacks as normal
- Administration:
- Perform end-of-week scoring
- All players who have least training in that department will be evaluated
- If you are evaluated and meet criteria below, you will be penalised:
- criteria are based on which department is being evaluated:
- R&D: Have 2 or fewer upgraded designs
- Assembly: Have 2 or fewer cars in your garages
- Logistics: Have 2 or fewer car parts on your player board
- Design: Have 2 or fewer designs on your player board
- Administration: Be certified in 2 or fewer departments
- penalty is that you lose 1 PP, plus 1 PP for each banked shift you have fewer than 5
- e.g. If you have 2 banked shift, you will lose 1 + (5 - 2) = 4 PP

End-of-week scoring happens at end of Work Phase when Sandra is at her desk
Each player then scores for each car their your garage:
- Gain 1 PP for each upgrade that has been made by all players to that type of car
- Gain 1 PP for each tested design that you have for that type of car
Then move week to next marker of its track
When pace car reaches or passes a striped space on test track in R&D department, meeting marker is moved to its space underneath meeting room. When Work Phase has been completed by all players (including Sandra), if this marker is on this space under meeting room, all plyers take part in a meeting
To carry out a meeting:
- In certification track order, going right to left, going round and round until all players have passed consecutively:
- A player may pass in one round but then take part in a future turn
- On a player's turn, you may do one of two things:
- Speak:
- Do one or both of following:
- Play one of performance goals in your hand
- Note: You must do this once and only once during a meeting
- You do not have to score card that you played during meeting
- Place 1 of your speech tokens on highest numbered speech icons on a Performance goal card
- You can only place 1 of your speech tokens on each card
- Score PP based on goal
- You can place a token on card you just played this turn
- You may place a speech token on a card even if you will score 0 PP from it
- Play one of performance goals in your hand
- Do one or both of following:
- Pass:
- Note: You can only do this if you have played one of your performance goal cards
- Speak:
After all players have passed consecutively, meeting is over and some cleanup occurs:
- Return speech tokens to their owners:
- They are placed back in supply, not back on player boards
- Speech tokens that were not spent during meeting are not moved
- If a player has generic speech tokens by their board, they may exchange them for their own speech tokens
- Discard all performance goal cards that were played this meeting
- Each player then places one of 2 remaining performance goal cards in their hand face down in meeting room
- Reveal cards chosen by players
- 2-3P: Draw cards from performance goal deck to bring number of performance goal cards in meeting room to 4
- Deal 2 new performance goal cards to each player
- Return meeting marker to its space on test track
- Advance production cycle marker one space on its track
Game end is triggered when one of following is true:
- Week marker is on 2nd space and production cycle marker is on 3rd space
- Week marker is on 3rd space and production cycle marker is on 2nd space
Round when game end was triggered is completed, then if a end-of-week scoring and/or meeting was triggered, they are completed, then final scoring commences
Each player scores points for following categories:
- Final Goal tile
- Spend 1 speech token per achievement on final goal tile to score it
- Generic speech tokens can be used for this step
- 1 PP per:
- Shift you still have banked
- Speech token you still have
- Book you still have
- Parts voucher you still have
- For each car in your garage:
- City Car (green): 2 PP
- SUV (blue): 3 PP
- Truck (grey): 4 PP
- Sports Car (red): 5 PP
- Concept Car (black): 6 PP
- Score positions on training track:
- For each department:
- 1st place: 5 PP
- 2nd place: 3 PP
- 3rd place: 1 PP
- If you have not trained in a particular department, you do not score any points for it
- Ties are broken for this step are broken in order markers were placed on space from top to bottom
- For each department:
- Score your tested designs:
- For each design, gain PP equal to car part's value
- For each Charger token on your Charger board:
- Gain 1 PP for each car you have in your garages
Winner is player with most PP
Tiebreakers:
- Player with most cars in their garages
- Player with most tested designs
- Player with most banked shifts
If there is still a tie, tied players share victory
